Poor air conditionong. Bed small. Room tired. Buffet food was awful. If they sent in an Environmental health officer and they tested tempartures the buffet would have been closed down. It was a disgrace the food temp was not taken the entire 90 minutes we were there. Food had been there for hours. Price of drinks in the bar was rediculous.
the hotel was out of the way no public transport from the hotel only cabs which was very expensive the bus stop was 10 minutes away and we found this out ourselves not from staff at the hotel the pool looked dirty and the area not very welcoming iv'e been to alot of hilton hotels and this was very poor hotel looks shabby it needs the refurb thought facilities would be much better
The staff were excellent: polite, professional and pleased to help.
The controls for the lights in the room were very difficult to understand. What's wrong with an on/off switch?
Friendly staff very warm large rooms super breakfast easy access and parking
Staff very friendly and good value when we stayed.
Although the rooms have been refurbished, i think the showers could do the sames, bath/shower taps rusty and not enough hot water. The bed could do with a new mattress in room 122. Did mention about the hot water and the shower taps to reception when checking out. I dont think that people staying at the hotel should pay for the car park, there was 2 of us with our own cars, which meant that the bill was £6.00, a bit hefty...........
It was great staff, and it was a clean hotel.
The hotel really need a total renovation for it is an old hotel. Furniture in the reception was not pretty to watch. The room we got had a strange smell, and we had not opened the window. There was only one elevator that it still works. Located 30 minutes away from London, and if you are going away you need to take a taxi. Do you have your own car, so it is best compared to its location. You get nowhere without a taxi, so we used 24 pounds each day only to taxi to travel to / from the train station and 12 pounds for the day pass from the station and into London every day. Will probably not use this hotel again and think it has too many stars of Booked.net.
Comfy beds, clean rooms. Good breakfast.
Only one member of staff manning bar and serving food Saturday lunchtime so service was very slow and chaotic.
Friendly stuff, lovely bedroom
Have to pay for overnight car parking
Staff were very attentive and extremely helpful.
I booked a 2 night stay for my daughter, She drove nearly 200 miles to the hotel, She felt really ill on arrival and the staff could not have been more helpful Little things made all the difference, I don't normally comment but I thought this great service needed a mention Well done to all the staff and may all hotels take a leaf out of your book
Nothing, at all. Terrible hotel. Needs razing to the ground and rebuilding. The only slight consolation was the location.
Bed was awful, room was dirty and tatty, staff tried to placate us with alcohol "so you don't leave and drive home instead of staying" (that's a quote!) and essentially blamed us for coming at the wrong time as they hadn't refurbed yet. At £90 a night I expect more! We'd have been better off in a Premier Inn, or a tent. They moved us to a suite that was apparently £180 (!) a night that was no better. The bath was cracked, the toilet didn't flush and the bed was like sleeping on a concrete floor. The room has no lights on the ceiling either, so it's dark and dingy even with the lights on. I'm an HHonors member and feel like it was only that got us moved, considering the night manager essentially blamed us for booking the wrong time then plied us with booze so we wouldn't be able to drive home. Breakfast was £10 but it was okay. Not bad, but certainly not worth any more than that. Oh, and parking is £4 a night. At a minimum of £90 a night they should not be charging for parking!
The place was baisc comfortable and the nice place to be
Didn't have any problems
lovely room and comfortable.
I had a conference room booked for the next day, even so i had to pay for the parking. There was no discount for the room, since i was using the conference room next for twenty people.
Courteous and cheerful staff. Very eager to help.
Lounge chairs in reception require replacement
The staff were friendly and nice.
Dirty smelly carpets, lift was so dirty too, it does not equal with the name. I suppose Hilton is a big name! Noisy air conditioning. I could hardly find sleep. I made a complaint it was not taken seriously. Nothing was done about it.
